I know

I know, I know, I'm sorry! Its been a long time since my last post, and I don't have a good enough excuse.
Yesterday, I went to the zoo with my dancing friends to surprise my dance teacher, Miss Bec, for her 40th birthday. It was the first really enjoyable day I've had in a long time.
Miss Bec is my idol. She is everything I want to become. Her passion for dancing, and music theatre in general, is truly inspirational, and the way she carries herself, in front of her children, in front of her students and in front of her peers is genuine. I absolutely love her and feel extremely lucky to have met her and be taught by her.

This weekend I'm going to Melbourne for my older sister, Ann's baby shower. She's been trying for a baby for 8 years, and so this is a pretty big deal for us all. It's a little girl, and Ann has a name, but is keeping it a secret. I couldn't be happier for her.

Nothing much has really happened worth writing about in the past few weeks. Work, Dance, Music.. that's my life at the moment unfortunately.

I'm currently uploading a new YouTube vlog, feel free to check it out. My user name is 'bohemiantaylor'

Shout out to Henry Arrowsmith who wanted to feel special and be mentioned.

Yes Please

Hey bloggers,
Sorry I haven't written for a very long time. Apart from being busy working, I have also acquired a rather strange feeling of being adventurous and gaining a new group of friends. Jason, Kate and Bec are from my Creative Souls group I attend, and are also new close friends of mine. Spending time with them the past few weeks is something that I can honestly say,  has changed me. Thank you, guys!
So the other day I went and saw the movie Alice in Wonderland in 3D. The movie was fairly average, definitely not worth $20 for amateur effects, but on the whole, I did enjoy it.
But something has been on my mind ever since, and that is the dress Alice wore when she was 'Um' in the Queen of Hearts castle. I fell in love. I actually have not wanted something more in my life. Here's some pictures of it if you haven't seen it.

Isn't it gorgeous! I've looked on ebay and it doesn't look like anyone has made anything remotely close to the original, which I'm extremely disappointed about. I'm looking for someone to make it for me! So any volunteers out there who are pro's with the needle, please contact me ASAP!

Well, enough for tonight, I'll keep you posted either tomorrow or Tuesday about my week! Keep safe and thanks for reading,

Rain

Well, it's raining here in Adelaide and I must say, I love it. I love the sounds it makes on tin sheds, I love the way it washes everything clean, as if to start over, and I love the way it makes the roads twinkle in the hidden sunlight.

Here's a little quote that hit me whilst net surfing. Enjoy.

“If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and deprecate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, they want rain without thunder and lightning.”

Another Day, Another Dollar

Work. Everyone does it. If you don't, you either scab off of Centrelink or married someone extremely wealthy. Here's a glimpse into an average night at Domino's Woodville.

I started at 5pm, and naturally, there was a lot that needed to be done that the manager on Open didn't do. So after getting the shop ready for Peak, we waited. The phone rang. Always the sign for peak about to start, and sure enough, one when rings, 4 more ring. So with every single phone on hold so that I can start making, customers come in store to order. This is about the time when I wish I had a different job.

It's so hard to understand people's accents, but after a long time working there, you start to become good at translating. For example, Asians usually order Hawaiians, whereas African Americans usually order a Meatosaurus, so when they say something that sounds remotely close to that, you just sort of.. guess.

At around 7.30, I was exhausted. Being the only one that knows what their doing is pretty frustrating. I agree with the logic that if you keep looking at the time, it goes slower, because every time I looked at it, it hadn't changed.

One of my pet hates at work is when its extremely busy and there's customers in store waiting to order, and you have to tell them you'll be a few minutes as you are doing more important things such as cutting the pizza's so they don't fall out of the oven, and they just give you the dirtiest stares until you serve them, which they then continue to hastily look at the menu and take 5 minutes deciding what they want. Honestly, instead of making one feel bad about doing her job, how about helping me save some time by deciding your order BEFOREHAND.

8.55pm. 5 minutes to go until freedom. 5 minutes that are the longest I've ever experienced. Time seems to have frozen at this stage. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, it hits 9.00pm.

I've never been more happy to see my Mothers car drive up to take me home.

Eight Guilty Pleasures

Ahh, another lazy day in my pj's. I thought I'd pass the time with writing a list of the eight things that make me the most happy.

1. Photography. What I would do without a camera.. Apart from writing, photography helps me tell stories.

2. Music is very important in my life. Writing songs and singing for people makes me feel amazing. I love sharing my talents. Music is how I express myself.

3. Travelling has become a recent passion of mine since my return from Indonesia. Seeing others cultures and how different they are from mine really inspired me to travel a lot more.

4. Make Up has always been a passion of mine. Being able to experiment with different colors and textures is intriguing. I also have a natural 'nack' of being able to apply and creature extreme looks that flatter the face.

5. Performing since I was 3 has obviously had a major impact on my self confidence. I love being on stage and becoming other people, whilst sharing my talents to major audiences.

6. Malea is my 1 year old Labrador puppy and is easily my best friend. She came to me when I was going through an extremely difficult time in my life and has changed my outlook on life in ways that I cannot accurately explain.

7. Italian food is delicious!

8. Reading is great for me to get out of my own body and become part of someone else's imagination.

So there you go, I hope you learnt a little about me that you didn't already know! Here's something to think about before you go..

“We plan our lives according to a dream that came to us in our childhood, and we find that life alters our plans. And yet, at the end, from a rare height, we also see that our dream was our fate. It's just that providence had other ideas as to how we would get there. Destiny plans a different route, or turns the dream around, as if it were a riddle, and fulfills the dream in ways we couldn't have expected.”

The Story Begins . .

I am finally getting into the Blogger spirit! After much thought and consideration, I have come to the conclusion that Blogging would be a much better time waster than Facebook, therefore, I am converting.

A little about myself, I am 17 years old, currently living in Adelaide and enjoy Singing, Dancing and Acting. I am having a Gap Year this year, and already, 2010 has been an amazing experience. From Music Theatre Camp in January, to going on a cruise to Indonesia with some friends in February, I have already grown as a person and am excited as to what this year will continue to bring.

Some of my passions include Music, English, Performing, Travelling and spending time with my twin sister, Jessica. I'm currently attending Creative Souls Theatre every Thursday for 4 hours of Music Theatre training, which I am thoroughly enjoying. Being with the people that share the same extreme passion as you is extremely motivating. Bec Schembri is the most inspiring dance teacher anyone could ever have. The things I have learnt from her will stay with me for a life time.

One day I hope to become a professional entertainer, and as a backup plan, a nurse. Helping people makes me feel amazing, and I am currently fund-raising to go to Moldova (Eastern Europe) to work as a volunteer in the local Orphanage for 3 months. I imagine the experience would be most incredible and life changing.

Well, as I am new to Blogger, any of you pro's out there feel free to give me some tips! They would be greatly appreciated!
